Choh has 20 points, 12 boards as Brown holds off Stony Brook

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Tamenang Choh had 20 points and 12 rebounds to help Brown hold off a late charge and beat Stony Brook 71-69 on Saturday.

Brown (7-4) was leading 66-59 with 1:58 remaining in the game after an Obi Okolie layup. Stony Brook's Miles Latimer drained a 3-pointer and Akwasi Yeboah added a layup and two free throws in the final minute as the Seawolves rallied to close to 69-68 with nine seconds left. Brown's Desmond Cambridge added two free throws for a 71-68 lead.

Stony Brook's Jaron Cornish was fouled with one second left. He made the first free throw and missed the second for the final score.

Cambridge added 16 points, Okolie 14 and Zach Hunsaker 10 for the Bears.

Brown took its first lead with under five minutes remaining in the first half after Okolie hit a jump shot to go up 25-23. The Bears pushed that to take a 35-30 advantage into the break. They held a single-digit lead the rest of the game.

Yeboah had 23 points for Stony Brook (8-2) which had won six straight and is off to its best start in the Division I era.
