Charleston Southern coasts to 86-57 win over Campbell
BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) Will Saunders sank six 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 26 points to propel Charleston Southern to an 86-57 win over Campbell on Saturday.
Saah Nimley contributed 25 points, including four 3s, and Arlon Harper added 14 points, as Charleston Southern (18-9, 12-4 Big South) shot 50 percent from the floor and 11 of 20 from long range to extend its win streak to five.
Down by two late in the first half, Charleston Southern took control with a 31-2 run that stretched across both sides of the break and included 3-pointers from Nimley and Saunders.
Campbell (9-20, 3-13) went cold after the break, scoring just five points over the first 11 1/2 minutes of the second on 1-of-14 shooting from the field, with 3 of 4 from the line.
Andrew Ryan led Campbell with 12 points and reached 1,000 career points with a free throw early in the first half.
