COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) Auburn starting forward Anfernee McLemore left the court on a stretcher after a gruesome-looking injury to his left leg late in the first half against South Carolina on Saturday.

Auburn said McLemore suffered a dislocated left ankle and was taken to a hospital for X-rays.

McLemore came down hard and immediately started shouting in pain as medical personnel quickly surrounded him.

The 6-foot-7 McLemore remained on the ground for several minutes before he was carried out on a stretcher. His coach, Bruce Pearl, and South Carolina coach Frank Martin came out to check on him. McLemore sat up on the stretcher to wave to the crowd before heading to the locker room.
