Aaron Rodgers may be a future Hall of Fame quarterback, but he has other interests when the season is over, and the one that fills his March is college basketball.

The Green Bay Packers superstar has become the highest-profile fan of the University of Wisconsin basketball team, in particular, so that was the main topic of conversation Thursday on “The Sidelines Podcast” with FS1 College Hoops insider Evan Daniels.

“It’s my love of the state, and I’ve done a lot of charity work with members of the school or the staff and gotten to know the players over the years,” Rodgers said of Wisconsin, which will meet Florida on Friday night in the Sweet 16. “Obviously, I still root for Cal, that’s where I went to college. If Butte College would ever make the tournament, I would root for them, but I root for all things Wisconsin now. I’ve been there 12 years, and love my state.”

So what’s his Final Four? Yes, he has the eighth-seeded Badgers, but he’s not picking them to win it all.

Wisconsin: “They have kind of that factor in the tournament.”

Arizona: “I had them in my bracket all the way to the championship game, and I’m going to stick with them.”

UCLA: “I’m a Pac-12 homer, so I’m going to go with UCLA getting out of there. I’m a fan of Steve Alford, and his son Bryce has had a fantastic year. … Lonzo Ball, and then they have the best midrange big man in the country (TJ Leaf).”

Kansas: “I’ve got Kansas winning the whole thing. I’m a big Bill Self fan, and I have been since the first time I met him.”
