Impact Bates missed the Wolfpack's last game before due to an apparent ankle issue but was back and ready to contribute in a big way after the team went on a small layoff due to COVID-19 problems. The 6-11 sophomore is typically a starter and will likely find himself back with the first unit after a solid performance in Saturday's loss.

Impact The Wolfpack will resume playing Saturday after a 10-day layoff, but it remains to be seen whether Bates will be able to take the court. He has only missed one game this season, though.

Impact Despite suffering what initially looked to be a potentially-serious knee injury, it looks like Bates will give it a go for the ACC matchup. He and the Wolfpack may have a tough go against Aamir Simms and a tough Clemson frontcourt.

Impact Bates originally suffered the injury in the first half of Wednesday's matchup against Boston College, and while he originally tried to walk it off (and even returned briefly), the sophomore forward was unable to continue. While coach Kevin Keatts doesn't appear to be overly concerned just yet, the team will take a conservative approach and run the appropriate tests to clear Bates of any further concerns. Until the results come in, he should be considered questionable at best for Tuesday's matchup against Clemson. Fortunately for the Wolfpack, DJ Funderburk returned Wednesday and logged 30 minutes off the bench. He and Jericho Hellems will have to serve as the primary forwards until Bates is cleared.
