Exploring exit from Miami Olaniyi placed his name in the transfer portal Thursday and is expected to move on from Miami (Fla.), Travis Branham of 247Sports.com reports. Impact After arriving at Miami last May as a transfer from Stony Brook, Olayini ended up missing a starting role for most of what will likely end up being his lone season with the Hurricanes. He started in 18 of his 21 appearances, averaging 10.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.9 assists. Though he's already played four active seasons of college basketball, Olaniyi will look to take advantage of the NCAA extending an extra year of eligibility to all players due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 2020-21 campaign. He should be able to compete right away at his next school, and he likely won't struggle to find another Division I program to extend him a scholarship.
