Navy’s ‘Star Wars’-themed video for Army-Navy game casts West Point as Death Star

It turns out the men and women training to defend our nation at the United States Naval Academy are pretty great at movie parody too.

In anticipation of the annual Army-Navy football clash on Dec. 12 as well as the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on Dec. 18, the Midshipmen produced their annual "Spirit Spot" highlighting the lighter side of the academy in the name of school pride.

A previous memorable USNA spirit spot installment played on Psy’s "Gangnam Style" craze; this one with the "Stars Wars" bend takes a theme to another level as Midshipman Leia gets trapped at West Point (the Death Star) where General Vader roams. Meanwhile C-Plebe-30, R2-Plebe-2 and Soup Solo aid Luke and the Mids as they attempt to rescue Leia.

LATEST FROM THE BUZZER

We won’t say more. It’s pretty great.
