Country singer Bryan takes batting practice with White Sox

It’s not a bad life for country music star Luke Bryan, who traded his guitar for some lumber Monday and joined the Chicago White Sox for spring training batting practice in Arizona.

Here’s Bryan taking some cuts with background music by The Wallflowers and some playful ribbing by Sox players:

Bryan said that he went to the same high school as Buster Posey in Leesburg, Ga., where Bryan learned in 10th grade that he was not a born athlete.

"If he wants to sing the anthem, that’s perfect," manager Robin Ventura said about possibly signing Bryan. "Him and ‘Rochey’ [Adam LaRoche] are good buddies. Guys had a great time with him out here. He’s good as far as coming out, interacting, having fun. It’s always good when stuff like that mixes together. He took infield, and he’s going to be a little sore, I think."
