Jarryd Hayne’s cyber safety presentation interrupted by, you guessed it, porn

Remember Jarryd Hayne, the Australian rugby league star who was with the Niners last year? He’s back in Australia, playing rugby and using his celebrity status to teach high school kids some very important lessons.

Hayne was at a high school on Monday to teach the kids about cyber safety, but the presentation was cut short when some jokester tapped into the WiFi network and put a bunch of porn up on the screen.

The gaffe was caught on video, but don’t worry, all the NSFW parts are blurred out.

Despite the mortified look on Hayne’s face, he wasn’t to blame.

Cybersecurity firm Norton, which put on the event, released a statement saying the offending device wasn’t Hayne’s.

“However, (we) can categorically confirm that the inappropriate images were not from Jarryd’s mobile phone,” the statement said.

“The content was traced back to a Samsung device while Jarryd was utilising an iPhone.

“It was [awkward],” Hayne told the Guardian. “I shut my phone straight away so that way I was logged off. Wow.”

Honestly, if you’re trying to educate kids about the dangers of joining unsecured WiFi networks, this is the best way to get the message across.
