Hockey players square off for a fight, crack open a beer instead
It’s not often that an athlete wants to have a beer with his opponent, and definitely not in the middle of a game.
But that’s what happened in the Federal Hockey League on Friday.
Jesse Felten of the Dayton Demonz and Matt Puntureri of the Danville Dashers looked like they were going to come to blows in the third period.
The pair circled each other, threw off their gloves and then … hugged. But to make it even better, Puntureri reached into his pads and pulled out a can of beer.
Take a look:
Some of the fans were less than amused since the game did have an impact on playoff seeding. But the score was already 4-0 for Dayton, so the consequenses of horsing around were a little less serious.
Speaking of consequences, since the two players never actually fought, neither was sent to the box for a penalty.
This whole friendly fight thing is turning into a bit of a trend. A few weeks ago, two semi-pro players ended their brutal fight with a high five.
