Massive fight breaks out on field after South Florida high school football playoff game


St. Thomas Aquinas of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. is a prep football powerhouse — they have the most current NFL players of any high school in America and are frequent contenders for National Championships.

Saturday, they had handily dispatched Palm Beach County powerhouse Dwyer 39-0 in a Class 7A regional semifinal playoff game — then all hell broke lose and the two teams threw down in one of the most intense on-field brawls you'll ever see.

The fracas happened after the game as the teams met on the field to shake hands. According to St. Thomas Aquinas coach Roger Harriott, one of the Dwyer players punched STA cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., one of the state's best prospects in the Class of 2018. From there, chaos.
