Cubs’ Lester has great attitude about setting embarrassing record

Cubs pitcher Jon Lester set a major-league record in the second inning of Wednesday’s game against the Nationals by starting his career 0 for 58 at the plate. (He later made another out to make it 0 for 59.)

When you look at Lester’s spray chart, 0 for 58 actually seems even uglier, with only a handful of balls even making it to the outfield.

However, the left-hander, who spent 2006-14 in the American League before signing with the Cubs this offseason, is looking on the bright side of making history.
