Opening Day highlights, lowlights; Naya Rivera is Fox-y

Here are some highlights and lowlights from MLB’s third Opening Day on Monday: Cubs catcher Welington Castillo took a ball to the worst place possible. Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen celebrated Neil Walker’s walk-off homer by repeatedly punching him in the buttocks. Angels outfielder Mike Trout homered in his first at-bat of the season. In the battle of Bryce Harper vs. a beach ball, the beach ball won. Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun got a standing ovation from the Milwaukee faithful during his first at-bat of the season.

Angels hitting coach Don Baylor suffered a broken leg on the ceremonial opening pitch.

The world champion Red Sox are scheduled to visit the White House on Tuesday. Jonny Gomes is dressed for the occasion.

This YANKEE FAN made his way to last night’s Mariners-Angels game so he could voice his displeasure with Robinson Cano taking a lot of money.

Dirk Nowitizki appeared last night on Conan O’Brien’s show, which is in Texas for the week. Nowitzki gave O’Brien a quiz about the state, which resulted in a Tony Romo zinger. The NBA superstar also rattled off some potential nicknames he wouldn’t mind having.
