Tarver ready to throw down with the big boys

Former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver will fight for

the first time in more than a year when he makes his heavyweight

debut against Nagy Aguilera next week.

Tarver hasn’t fought since back-to-back losses to Chad

Dawson.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Tarver says he’s

ready for the challenge of facing the heavyweights, including the

Klitschko brothers, and that he feels rejuvenated after spending

time away from the grind of training camps.

He has spent most of the past year working as a boxing analyst

for Showtime.
