Huck beats Afolabi to keep WBO cruiserweight title
Marco Huck of Germany retained his WBO cruiserweight title with a narrow unanimous decision over Ola Afolabi of Britain on Saturday night.
Huck (27-1) had the upper hand in most of the 12 rounds, but he was in trouble in the fifth after receiving a couple of blows to the head. Huck ultimately recovered to land more punches throughout the fight.
Two of the judges scored it 115-113, while the other had it 116-112 for Huck, who has won eight straight since a 12th-round stoppage by Steve Cunningham during an IBF cruiserweight title fight in December 2007.
Afolabi (14-2-3) lost for the first time since a four-round points decision to Allan Green in March 2003, when both of them were just starting out.
