A cut over his left eye couldn't keep Chad Dawson from beating Bernard Hopkins and taking his WBC light heavyweight title Saturday night in Atlantic City.

A desperate Hopkins apparently tried to pull out all the stops to threaten Dawson. In the end, though, Hopkins saw his record fall to 52-6-2 in a 12-round majority decision.
Bernard Hopkins is tended to by his corner team between rounds. Saturday's fight against Chad Dawson was a rematch of their earlier bout in October, in which Hopkins was forced to end the fight after two rounds with an injured shoulder. It was eventually ruled a no-contest.
