Tampa Bay Lightning celebrate 2021 Stanley Cup with custom WWE Championship

The Tampa Bay Lightning added to an already spectacular year for the city — home of WrestleMania 37, the ThunderDome, February’s Super Bowl and its champions — by clinching their second-consecutive Stanley Cup Monday. WWE EVP Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H once again sent the Bolts a custom replica WWE Title, and the gold was hand delivered Friday to Andrei Vasilevskiy and company by none other than Tampa's own Titus O'Neil.

"I'm tremendously proud of everything you guys have done," O'Neil said to the Bolts team and staff, including Head Coach Jon Cooper, along with Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.

"You guys have brought so much joy to the entire community," Mayor Castor said. "And we've got some divers too in case Stanley needs to learn how to swim," joking about Monday's upcoming boat parade along Tampa's Hillsborough River.

O'Neil gave the custom replica title to Lightning centre Alex Killorn, who last year was spotted with a non-WWE replica Bolts title.

"Last year ... at the parade, Killorn had a makeshift WWE Title, so I said this year, we'll represent the right way," O'Neil said, before posing for photos with the Stanley Cup, the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Prince of Wales Eastern Conference trophy with Killorn, goaltender Vasilevskiy and Bolts Captain, centre Steven Stamkos.

The Lightning join other multi-time recipients of custom WWE Championships like the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Golden State Warriors and the New England Patriots.
