Southeast Louisiana opens season with 90-71 victory over Delta State

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Roger McFarlane had 14 points in Southeast Louisiana's 90-71 win against Delta State on Monday night.

McFarlane also had five rebounds for the Lions (1-0, Southland Conference). Nick Caldwell scored 13 points while finishing 6 of 8 from the floor. Roscoe Eastmond had 13 points and finished 6 of 8 from the floor.

The Statesmen (0-1) were led in scoring by Maalik Cartwright, who finished with 17 points and four assists. Delta State also got 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks from Chris Terrell. In addition, Kelen Dietrich had 11 points.
