UCLA softball completes sweep of Arizona

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Third-ranked UCLA completed a three-game sweep of sixth-ranked Arizona in Pac-12 softball, defeating the Wildcats 2-0 on Monday.

Arizona (23-6, 0-3 Pac-12) put its leadoff hitter on in each of the first five innings, and six of the seven innings, including three leadoff doubles, but was unable to score. The Wildcats stranded six base runners, including three in the fifth inning.

Arizona pitcher Kenzie Fowler (3-2) gave up only two hits, both in the fifth inning when the Bruins scored both their runs. She walked six and struck out four.

UCLA (26-1, 3-0 Pac-12) swept Arizona for the first time since 2006.
