Tuberville to debut ‘Raider Walk’ before Texas Tech-SMU game

The Texas Tech football team has officially announced new head coach Tommy Tuberville’s idea of having the Red Raider football team interact with fans on their way to Jones AT&T Stadium.

The ‘Raider Walk’ will occur for the first time Sunday at approximately 12:15 p.m., a couple of hours before Texas Tech kicks its season off against SMU. The walk is expected to continue all season long at Texas Tech home games two hours and 15 minutes before the game’s kickoff.

The walk will begin at the corner of Texas Tech’s baseball stadium, Dan Law Field, and the City Bank Auditorium — the southwestern corner of the parking lot on the west side of Jones AT&T Stadium.

Tuberville hopes tailgaters in the area will come meet the team and members of Texas Tech’s band and cheer for the Red Raiders on their walk to the stadium locker room.

“We want to do the Raider Walk,” Tuberville said during Monday’s media conference. “I think those are things that help us.”
