2013

D.J. Foster accounts for 150 yards and two touchdowns as ASU wraps up a 10-2 regular season with a 58-21 victory over Arizona to earn the right to host Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship game.

2002

Stephon Marbury scores a team-record 26 of his 43 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Suns to a 94-87 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

2003

The Diamondbacks trade Curt Schilling to the Boston Red Sox for Casey Fossum, Brandon Lyon, Jorge De La Rosa and Mike Goss.

2014

Eleventh-ranked Arizona earned a place in the Pac-12 championship game with a 42-35 victory over 13th-ranked Arizona State. The Wildcats needed help to win the South Division title, and they got it when Stanford beat eight-ranked UCLA. Arizona's defense scored a touchdown on the third play of the game — returning a Taylor Kelly fumble for a touchdown — and stopped ASU on downs on its final offensive series. Freshman  Nick Wilson carried the Arizona offense with 178 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

1998

Trung Canidate runs for a then-school-record 288 yards on just 16 carries as Arizona improves to 11-1 with a 50-42 victory over ASU. Ryan Kealy passed for 511 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort for the Sun Devils.

2003

Ladislav Nagy registers his first career hat trick as the Coyotes defeat the Los Angeles Kings 6-4 despite being outshot 43-23.

2011

Beanie Wells rushes for a Cardinals' franchise record 228 yards in the Cardinals' 23-20 win over the Rams. Rookie Patrick Peterson added an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown, setting an NFL record with four scoring punt returns of 80-plus yards in a season.

2015

Dave Tippett records career coaching victory No. 500 as the Coyotes beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Oliver Ekman-Larsson's game-winning goal with 40 seconds left in overtime.

1999

Jeremy Roenick had his second hat trick in two days and Sean Burke became the sixth goaltender in NHL history to record shutouts with six different teams as the Coyotes trounced the Colorado Avalanche 7-0.

2006

Matt Leinart passed for a career-best 405 yards and Larry Fitzgerald had 11 catches for 172 yards — the second-best total of his career — but the Minnesota Vikings score on a 99-yard kickoff return and a 99-yard fumble return to beat the Cardinals 31-26.

The Diamondbacks outbid several other teams for Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas, a who agrees to a six-year, $68 million deal with Arizona.

1999

Jeremy Roenick registers his first hat trick as a Coyote (seventh of his career) and Sean Burke makes 35 saves in his Phoenix debut to lead the Coyotes to a 4-2 win over New Jersey.

2007

Kurt Warner passed for 484 yards — his highest total as a Cardinal — but his fumble in the end zone was recovered by the 49ers for a 37-31 overtime victory — ending an eight-game losing streak for San Francisco.

2013

Taylor Kelly accounted for 324 yards (225 passing, 99 rushing) as ASU took a 35-13 first-half lead and held on to defeat 14th-ranked UCLA 38-33 and clinch the Pac-12 South division title in Todd Graham's second season.

2013

Ka'Deem Carey rushed for 206 yards and four touchdowns and became Arizona's all-time rushing leader as the Wildcats stunned  fifth-ranked Oregon 42-16 in Tucson. B.J. Denker threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 102 more and Arizona's defense forced four Oregon turnovers — including the first two Marcus Mariota interceptions of the season.

2015

At 19 years and 24 days, Devin Booker becomes the youngest player in Suns history to start a game. He scored four points in a 98-84 loss at San Antonio.

2002

Curt Keilback calls his 2000th game as play-by-play man for the Jets/Coyotes franchise, a 3-3 tie vs.the Florida Panthers on FOX Sports Net.

2014

Freshman Nick Wilson runs for 218 yards and three touchdowns as 15th-ranked Arizona steamrolls 20th-ranked Utah 42-10 in Salt Lake City to improve to 9-2 and put itself in position to play for the Pac-12 South title the following week.

2009

Arizona's bid for an upset of Oregon falls short in double overtime, as the Ducks, trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter, crank up the offense behind Jeremiah Masoli and escape with a 44-41 win at Arizona Stadium. Arizona's student section left the bleachers and began to prematurely storm the field as the final second ticked down and the Wildcats up 31-24, but Oregon scored with 8 seconds to play to send the game into overtime.

Suns guard Rex Chapman announces his retirement after 12 seasons in the NBA.

2015

Brandon Knight scores a career-high 38 points and dishes out 11 assists in a 114-107 Suns victory at Denver.

1997

The Diamondbacks select 35 players in the MLB Expansion Draft at Phoenix Civic Plaza, starting with left-handed pitcher Brian Anderson from Cleveland with their first pick and ending with Toronto pitcher Marty Janzen with their 35th. A few other notables: Outfielder Karim Garcia, Dodgers (5th); infielder Tony Batista, Oakland (14th); pitcher Omar Daal, Toronto (16th); outfielder David Dellucci, Baltimore (23rd); catcher Damian Miller, Minnesota (24th); catcher Kelly Stinnett, Milwaukee (33rd).

2007

 Antrel Rolle intercepts three passes and ties an NFL record by returning two of them for touchdowns, leading the Cardinals to a 35-27 win over the Bengals in Cincinnati. The perpetrator on the other end of the passes was current Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.

The Phoenix Coyotes claim goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks, and he would drive 40 miles to play his first game with his new team, a 1-0 shutout victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Shane Doan scored the game's only goal.

2013

Carson Palmer completes 30 of 42 passes for 419 yards and Michael Floyd totals 193 receiving yards, including a 91-yard touchdown pass, in the Cardinals' 27-14 win over the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

1999

Randy Johnson wins the second Cy Young Award of his career and first as an Arizona Diamondback. He went 17-9  with a 2.48 ERA and led the major leagues in strikeouts (364), innings (271 1/3) and complete games (12) to beat out 22-game winner Mike Hampton of the Astros.

2008

Kurt Warner passed for 395 yards — his fourth consecutive 300-yard game — and Anquan Bolden had 13 catches for 186 yards as the Cardinals improved to 7-3 with a 26-20 victory over the Seahawks in Seattle.

2011

Kirk Gibson is named the National League Manager of the Year after leading the D-backs to the NL West title with 94 wins, a 29-victory improvement over the previous season.

2013

Coyotes rookie defenseman Connor Murphy scores a goal on the first shot of his career, helping the Coyotes to a 6-3 win over Tampa Bay, improving their record to 9-0-1 at Jobing.com Arena.

2015

Brandon Knight records his first triple-double with 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in a 120-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pitcher Brian Anderson was the first of 35 players selected by the Diamondbacks in the 1997 expansion draft.
