The latest on the Elvis Andrus contract
While there’s no one associated with the Texas Rangers commenting on what’s going on with Elvis Andrus, a deal with the two-time All-Star is close.
According to a source, Andrus took his physical Tuesday and there were no issues.
The eight year, $120-million deal is expected to be official sometime after the Rangers return from their season opening road trip to Houston.
The deal kicks in after the 2014 season and Andrus will have an opt out after the 2018 season. There’s also a vesting option for a ninth year, which could extend the contract through the 2023 season.
