Staubach: Romo more solution than problem

Roger Staubach is still a Cowboy through and through. The
Hall of Fame quarterback fully supports Tony Romo and says Jason Garrett is the
right coach to win under Jerry Jones.

You really can’t get much more positive than that.

While some call the unpredictable Cowboys quarterback the Romocoaster, Staubach
says he’s the franchise QB that can get the job done.

“We have the quarterback that can do it in Tony Romo,” Staubach said
during a Monday radio interview.

Romo has said that a quarterback’s success should be judged by what they do in
the postseason. The 31-year-old has only one playoff victory —something that Staubach
believes must serve as motivation.

“It has to be a factor because you want to win, you want to get to the
playoffs and you want to do everything you can to get to the Super Bowl and win
the Super Bowl,” said Staubach, who won two Super Bowls during his time in
Dallas. “It’s a team effort, though. I was very fortunate. We had two
different kind of teams when we won the Super Bowls that we won, but we had
strong defenses and good offenses.

“I think Tony definitely is more of the solution. He’s not the problem at
all. He’s more of the solution. Part of the solution has to be on defense. That
was an issue for the Cowboys this year, but you’re a game or two away. Look at
the Giants at the end of the year. You didn’t know what was going to
happen.”
