FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Senior Monique Mulder scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Northern Arizona women’s basketball team to a 91-43 victory over New Mexico Highlands on Tuesday in front of 1,104 fans on Field Trip Day at the Walkup Skydome.

Every NAU player scored at least four points as the Lumberjacks improved to 2-4.

"We need all 11 players to play well this year and at any one time, we have five basketball players on the court who can all get the job done," NAU coach Sue Darling said.

Mulder shot 9 of 14 from the field, including 3 of 6 on 3-point attempts, and also contributed six assists, five steals and five rebounds.

Juniors Taylor Leyva and Shay Young and freshman Passionate Amukamara had 10 points apiece for NAU, which jumped out to a 31-3 lead in steamrolling the Cowgirls. Freshman Alyssa Rader had a team-leading 10 rebounds.

More than 900 school kids attended the third annual Field Trip game.

"It was especially fun because all of the screaming kids energized all of us," Darling said.
