NAU heads to N.D. with first place on the line

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — No. 22 Northern Arizona will embark on its final Big Sky road game as it rides a four-game win streak into Grand Forks, N.D., on Saturday.

Kickoff versus North Dakota is at 11 a.m. AZ time.

NAU is in a four-way tie atop the Big Sky standings with two games remaining.

The Lumberjacks (7-3, 5-1 Big Sky) have won all four meetings versus UND, scoring 39 point or more in each game, and this season average 27.3 points per game.

Junior running back Casey Jahn has a team-best 758 rushing yards, including a pair of 100-plus yard rushing games. Senior Ify Umodu is the top wide receiver for NAU with 575 yards on 38 catches with four touchdowns. For the defense, senior linebacker Austin Hasquet has a team-high 78 tackles and is five away from setting a new NAU career record.

Coach Bubba Schweigert is 25-28 in four seasons and 3-7 in his first season at UND (3-7, 1-5).

North Dakota is on a three-game losing streak with a home record this season of 3-2. UND is averaging 12.8 points per game, while its opponents are averaging 27.2. Joe Mollberg leads UND with 919 passing yards and three thrown touchdowns.
