NAU football ranked 15th in final polls
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona football team finished the season ranked No. 15 in both The Sports Network and FCS Coaches polls for Football Championship Subdivision teams.
NAU was ranked as high as No. 8 in The Sports Network poll and No. 9 in the FCS Coaches poll during the season.
Head coach Jerome Souers and the Lumberjack football team snapped a 10-year drought from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Playoffs, as they earned an at-large bid versus South Dakota State in the first round. The Lumberjacks finished the season with a 9-3 record after losing in the first round of the playoffs.
The Lumberjacks closed out their season with an FCS-best eight defensive touchdowns. The quick hands of Lucky Dozier, Anders Battle, Austin Hasquet, Marcus Alford, Ryan Reardon, Blair Wishom and Randy Hale Jr. all contributed to help NAU lead the FCS.
NAU had 19 players recognized in voting for the All-Big Sky teams.
