Hawkins seeks first winning campaign with Colorado

Something was missing as Colorado began fall football practices this week in coach Dan Hawkins’ fifth season in Boulder.

The famous black buffalo emblem was removed from the side of players’ helmets. Hawkins made the decision to withhold the emblems at the start of camp because he wants his team to earn them this year. The Buffs have yet to produce a winning season under Hawkins who has been under fire for a lack of results since this time last year. Hawkins is 16-33 with Colorado.
