FOX Sports Southwest to televise Texas vs. The Nation

NFL Draft Eligible Players Will Be Featured Saturday at Allen’s Eagle Stadium

FOX Sports Southwest will provide live television coverage of the Texas vs. The Nation postseason college football all-star game on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1:30 p.m. CT from Eagle Stadium in Allen.

The exhibition showcases top college seniors who played high school or college football in Texas against top players from around the nation hoping to be selected in the 2013 NFL draft.

The event is expected to draw over 200 NFL scouts, coaches and front office personnel to evaluate the talent of the draft eligible players.

Veteran play-by-play announcer Bob Licht, former New York Giants two-time Super Bowl champion linebacker and FOX Sports Southwest college football analyst Gary Reasons, and FOX Sports Southwest Football Friday sideline reporter Angela Hamann will call the game.

Former Dallas Cowboys star Bill Bates will coach the Texas team, while college football coaching legend Howard Schnellenberger will head The Nation squad.

Both coaches will wear wireless microphones and offer their insights during the telecast. Players also will be interviewed during the game, giving viewers an inside look at the future of the NFL.

Among the players on the Texas roster are Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege, TCU running back Matthew Tucker and wide receiver/return specialist Skye Dawson, Texas tight end D.J. Grant, Baylor wide receiver Lanear Sampson and Texas A&M wide receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu.

Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin will lead The Nation team.

The inaugural game in 2007 set a record for NFL signees in a first-year all-star game with 79 players signing NFL contacts. Since its inception, over 80 players who competed in the all-star game have been selected in the NFL draft and more than 400 have signed with an NFL team.

The FOX Sports Southwest telecast will reach more than 9 million homes in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
