The Diamondbacks recalled infielder/outfielder Nick Evans from Triple-A Reno on Friday. He replaces pitcher Zeke Spruill on the 25-man roster.

Evans, 28, appeared in eight games for the Diamondbacks earlier this season, with one hit in 11 at-bats. The hit was a home run. He has a .354 batting average with 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 47 RBI in 51 games for Reno.

Spruill pitched four innings in Wednesday night’s loss to Cleveland, giving up two runs.
