D-backs vs. Dodgers, 6 p.m., FOX Sports Arizona Plus

Arizona's Brandon McCarthy and Los Angeles' Hyun-Jin Ryu are the starting pitchers for Friday's opening game of a three-game series at Chase Field.

The Dodgers return to Chase Field tonight for the first time since their impromptu (or was it?) celebratory dip in the right-field pool after clinching the NL West pennant last Sept. 19. FOX Sports Arizona Plus will have all the angles — wet and dry — covered, starting with our pre-game show at 6 p.m., with first pitch to follow at 6:40.

Brandon McCarthy takes the mound for the Diamondbacks looking for his first win in three starts. For the Dodgers, it’s left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu, who was the winning pitcher when these teams met in the second game of their season-opening Australian series.

The Dodgers swept that series and come into tonight’s game with a 6-4 record, tied atop the NL West with San Francisco. The D-backs are 4-8 but feeling better about themselves after winning three of the last four games.

Paul Goldschmidt is 8 for 16 with a home run and two doubles in his career vs. Ryu. He’s hitting .370 for the season.

McCarthy has been solid against the Dodgers, though, going 2-0 with a 2.79 ERA in three starts.
