D-backs recall Bolsinger to fill vacancy in rotation

Mike Bolsinger made four starts for the D-backs earlier this season, going 1-2 with a 6.08 ERA.

PHOENIX — The Diamondbacks have recalled Mike Bolsinger from Triple-A Reno to start Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Bolsinger’s arrival pushes back the rest of the starters in Arizona’s rotation — with Wade Miley now scheduled for Wednesday and Chase Anderson for Thursday’s day game against Milwaukee.

Bolsinger, 26, is being recalled for the second time this season. In his previous stint, he made four starts and compiled a 1-2 record and a 6.08 ERA. At Reno, he’s made nine starts and compiled a 5-1 record and a 2.73 ERA. He had a 19.1-inning scoreless streak from May 16 to May 31 and struck a career-high 12 in his last start on June 11 vs. Nashville.

To make room on the roster, the D-backs optioned Will Harris to Reno. Harris is 0-2 with a 9.24 ERA in 12.2 innings.
