Classic Coyotes debuts on Tuesday, Oct. 16

FOX Sports Arizona will replay great recent Coyotes games in a new series titled “Classic Coyotes Tuesday.”

The series starts Tuesday, Oct. 10, when FOX Sports Arizona will air two historic Phoenix Coyotes wins from last season – the Pacific Division title clincher at Minnesota (5 p.m.) and the NHL playoff round one series clincher versus Chicago (7 p.m.)

Tonight’s 5 p.m. game features the Coyotes’ 4-1 win at Minnesota to clinch their first Pacific Division title. “We were able to get one banner up. It only took 17 years, that’s not bad. But it’s nice to have something,” said Coyotes forward Shane Doan.

The 7 p.m. broadcast takes us to Chicago’s United Center, for Game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals between the Coyotes and Blackhawks. The Coyotes, leading the series 3-2, ride Mike Smith’s 39 saves to their first playoff series victory since 1987, when the franchise was located in Winnipeg, and a Round 2 matchup against Nashville.
