The Mike Leach era has come and gone in Lubbock, but it looks like the high-octane, pass happy offense will be sticking around on the plains. The hiring of Neal Brown as offensive coordinator signaled that head coach Tommy Tuberville wanted to keep the Air Raid offense, despite the reputation he had at Auburn as a run-first offensive mind.


In just two years at Troy, Brown proved he could move the ball both through the air and on the ground, coaching a 1,000 rusher one year and a 4,000 yard passer the next. By the way, he did this in his late 20s. Now at the wise old age of 29, Brown brings his own version of the spread to Lubbock, and his core philosophy is simple: Put the ball in your playmakers
