Arizona women can’t keep up with No. 22 Cal

BERKELEY, Calif. — The Arizona women’s basketball team (5-19, 1-12) couldn’t keep up with No. 22 California (17-7, 9-4) on Friday night in a 65-49 defeat.

Three players finished with 10 points for the Wildcats, with senior Erica Barnes, sophomore Keyahndra Cannon and freshman Breanna Workman tying for the team lead. Workman scored six of her 10 points from the free-throw line, going a perfect 6 for 6.

Senior Kama Griffitts added five assists while Barnes posted a career high four blocks.

The Bears started the game on a 7-0 run, but Arizona answered with a 10-0 run of its own to take the lead. It wouldn’t last long, however, as Cal responded with a 13-2 run and did not look back, never letting the Wildcats back in the game.
