Arizona will make its first appearance in the Foster Farms Bowl, taking on Purdue on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m. (MT) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

It will be the fifth bowl appearance in six years for the wildcats under head coach Rich Rodriguez. After a bowl-less 3-9 season in 2016, Arizona bounced back with a 7-5 record, including a 5-4 mark in Pac-12 play.

Purdue (6-6) also enjoyed a resurgence this year under first-year coach Jeff Brohm, earning its first bowl appearance since 2012. Four of the Boilermakers' six losses came against ranked teams.

Led by sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate, Arizona ranked third nationally in rushing offense (324.4 yards per game) and sixth in scoring office (41.8 points per game). Tate was a four-time selection as Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and rushed for 1,353 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. He also passed for 1,289 yards and nine TDs.

Purdue quarterback Elijah Sindelar has passed for 1,703 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Arizona and Purdue have met twice previously, with the Boilermakers winning both times. The last meeting was a 31-24 Purdue victory in Tucson in 2005.
