ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) Diana Taurasi scored 19 points, DeWanna Bonner added 13 and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Chicago Sky 72-66 Friday night for their ninth straight victory.
Brittney Griner added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the league-leading Mercury (15-3).
Sylvia Fowles had 23 points and 11 rebounds for Chicago before getting into foul trouble. The Sky (8-12) have lost four straight and 12 of 15. They were without All-Star forward Elena Delle Donne (Lyme disease) and point guard Courtney Vandersloot (knee).
Candice Dupree added 11 and Penny Taylor had 10 to help Phoenix overcome 37 percent shooting and 17 turnovers.
Jamierra Faulkner had 13 points and Tamera Young 12 for Chicago, which shot 41 percent from the field. Epiphanny Prince, who came in averaging 17.4 points, finished with five.
SPARKS 68, LIBERTY 54
NEW YORK (AP) - Nneka Ogwumike scored 15 points and Jantel Lavender added 14 to lead Los Angeles.
Candace Parker had 14 points for the Sparks (8-11), who are in the midst of a four-game road trip. They will play Connecticut on Sunday in a game that features a matchup between Nneka and her sister Chiney, who attended Friday night's game.
Tina Charles scored 20 points for New York (7-13), which has dropped two straight games after a successful homestand during which the Liberty won four of five.
Cappie Pondexter was held scoreless for the second time this season. She played only 18 minutes and missed all five of her shots.
STORM 88, STARS 67
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Shekinna Stricklen scored a season-high 19 points to pace Seattle.
Crystal Langhorne added 16 points, Sue Bird 14 and Camille Little 10 for Seattle (9-13), which won its second straight game in San Antonio.
Kayla McBride had 13 points to lead the Stars (11-10), and Danielle Robinson and Shameka Christon scored 10 points each.
The Storm led by as many as 21 points and held a double-digit lead throughout the second half.
Seattle was 9 for 21 on 3s, including Stricklen's 3-for-6 shooting.
