The New York Liberty have signed veteran forward DeMya Walker.
The signing, announced on Friday, reunites the 13th-year veteran with coach John Whisenant and former Monarchs teammate Nicole Powell. Terms of the deal were not released.
The 6-foot-3 Walker averaged 5.0 points and 3.2 rebounds last season with Connecticut and Washington. The New Jersey native has averaged 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 302 career games that also included extended stints with Portland and Sacramento.
Walker spent seven seasons with the Monarchs, including four under Whisenant - who is in his second year with New York.
The Liberty, playing in Newark's Prudential Center for the second of three seasons while Madison Square Garden undergoes renovations during the summers, open the 2012 campaign on May 19 against Connecticut.
