Wisconsin to play Duke in ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Wisconsin's basketball season ended just under a month ago, but there's already a game to circle on the 2014-15 calendar.
It was announced Thursday that the Badgers will host Duke in next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Both teams are widely regarded as top-five teams entering the new season. The teams will meet in the Kohl Center on Dec. 3. A time for the game will be announced at a later date.
"We're excited to welcome Duke back to the Kohl Center," head coach Bo Ryan said in a release. "I've known Mike Krzyzewski for a long time and have a lot of respect for him and his program. Excuse the play on words, but this will be a challenging matchup for us. We always try to put together a tough nonconference schedule that will get us ready for Big Ten play, and this certainly fits that category. We have tremendous fans that fill the Kohl Center every game and it's exciting to be able to reward them with a another big-time matchup like this."
Duke was 26-9 last season and finished at No. 16 in the final coaches poll. The No. 3 seed Blue Devils lost to 14th-seeded Mercer in this past season's NCAA tournament. Wisconsin went to the Final Four and ended with a 30-8 record.
The teams have met twice previously in the challenge, with each team winning on its home floor.
Wisconsin could face another ACC team during the season as well, as North Carolina is one of the teams along with the Badgers playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paraside Island, Bahamas.
