The Wisconsin hockey squad skated to a 1-all overtime tie versus visiting Michigan Tech Friday night.
Badgers forward Tyler Barnes hammered home a loose puck at the 16:49 mark of the third period, accounting for the hosts’ lone score of the night. The goal was Barnes’ first in nine games, and helped Wisconsin’s record move to 2-7-4 overall and 2-5-4 in WCHA play.
Michigan Tech took a 1-0 lead at the 8:42 mark of the third period, off a Blake Pietila goal. Other than that, though, Wisconsin netminder Landon Peterson stood on his head, registering 30 saves.
Both teams fired 31 shots on goal in the closely contested WCHA contest. Michigan Tech saw its records move to 4-8-2 overall and 3-6-2 in conference play.
