Jordan Hill, a 6-foot-3 guard from Pasadena, Calif., gave Badgers coach Bo Ryan an oral commitment on Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Hill will attend Phillips Exeter (N.H.) Academy this fall.
Last season, Hill averaged 14.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game at Pasadena La Salle High School. Judging from statistics, his 3-point shooting could use some work. He made just 21 of 88 3-point attempts (23.8 percent) last season and shot 39.2 percent from the field overall (145 for 369). Hill also shot 61.1 percent on free throws (77 for 126). He led his team in steals per game (2.5) and blocks (1.4).
Pasadena La Salle finished the season 13-14, fourth in its league, and lost in the opening round of the playoffs.
Hill chose Wisconsin over offers from Brown, Dartmouth, Florida Gulf Coast, Kent State and Yale. He joins La Crosse (Wis.) Aquinas guard Bronson Koening and Minnetonka (Minn.) guard Riley Dearing, who committed on July 19, in the Class of 2013.
Phillips Exeter plays in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, which includes Brewster Academy, a team that finished last season 32-1 and ranked among the best in the nation. Phillips Exeter finished last season 11-11.
