OLB Zombo signs with Kansas City

The free agent outside linebacker will go to Kansas City.

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Packers lost another one of their free agents Wednesday, but it shouldn't be too big of a setback.

Outside linebacker Frank Zombo is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, in a deal first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Zombo, who began his career with Green Bay after going undrafted in 2010, appeared in only eight games last season as he battled through a hamstring injury.

As a rookie, it looked like Zombo was going to be a very good player for the Packers for many years. He recorded four sacks, including one in Green Bay's Super Bowl XLV victory.

However, injuries derailed Zombo's career significantly, only recording one sack in the past two seasons.

New Chiefs general manager John Dorsey, who recently left Green Bay's front office to take over the top spot in Kansas City, is familiar with Zombo from their time together with the Packers.
