GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the sixth-best player in the NFL. Well, at least according to his peers and the NFL Network's Top 100 players countdown.
One year after ranking atop that list, Rodgers slid five spots to No. 6 overall.
The five players who were voted as being better than Rodgers were: Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt (No. 5), New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (No. 4), Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson (No. 3), Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (No. 2) and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (No. 1).
Rodgers' dip in the Top 100 rankings lined up with his slight decline in production. While Rodgers was still clearly one of the NFL's best quarterbacks last season, his completion percentage in 2012 was lower than it was in 2011, his total passing yards dropped by nearly 400 yards, he had six fewer touchdown passes and two more interceptions.
Rodgers and outside linebacker Clay Matthews (No. 31) were the only players on Green Bay's roster to make the Top 100. Defensive back Charles Woodson was ranked No. 85, but he's now a member of the Oakland Raiders.
