Marquette’s schedule finalized with announcement of Big East slate

The Big East conference released its men’s basketball schedule Tuesday, meaning Marquette University’s 2014-15 slate is complete.

Marquette will open Big East play with a 4 p.m. CT tip at DePaul on New Year’s Eve. The Golden Eagles play their first conference home game against Providence on Jan. 3 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Five of Marquette’s nine conference home games will be played on a Saturday, with three landing on a Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles will play three straight Big East home games in late January, hosting Georgetown (Jan. 24), Seton Hall (Jan. 28) and Butler (Jan. 31). Marquette will play consecutive road contests three times during its conference slate, beginning with games to Xavier and St. John’s on Jan. 17 and 21.

Marquette will wrap up conference play with back-to-back home games, beginning with St. John’s on March 4 and concluding with a Senior Day matchup with DePaul on March 7.

The Big East tournament will be played March 11-14 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

All 30 of Marquette’s regular-season games will be televised, with 22 broadcast on FOX Sports. FOX Sports Wisconsin will broadcast games against UT-Martin, Providence, Xavier and Butler, while FOX Sports 1 will carry 16 of Marquette’s games. An additional two games will be on FOX Sports 2.
