Lakers waive former Marquette star Johnson-Odom

Playing a total of six NBA minutes this season, Johnson-Odom didn't score a point while missing all four of his field goal attempts.
After earning First Team All-Big East honors during his senior season at Marquette, Johnson-Odom was drafted with the 55th pick of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Lakers and has spent most of his time with the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the D-League.
In 12 games for the D-Fenders, Johnson-Odom was averaging 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.
With all NBA contracts becoming guaranteed on Thursday, the Lakers waiving Johnson-Odom comes as no surprise. As of Monday, teams can sign players to 10-day contracts and Johnson-Odom could be signed to either a 10-day contract or a D-League contract.
