MILWAUKEE — With pitcher
Marco Estrada set to rejoin the starting rotation Tuesday night against Cincinnati, the Brewers were forced to make a move on Monday night to open up a spot for their No. 5 starter.
So Milwaukee sent reliever Mike McClendon down to Triple-A Nashville on Monday night very soon after he had been called back up to the major league roster.
The move also ensures that fill-in starter Michael Fiers remains on the major league roster for the time being -- or at least until fellow starter Shaun Marcum returns from elbow tightness that caused him to hit the disabled list.
Estrada returns to the mound boasting an 0-3 record with a 4.50 ERA in six starts this season.
