Brewers trim roster, send Morris to minors

Headlining the list is first baseman Hunter Morris, who struggled in spring training. With Corey Hart and Mat Gamel sidelined with injuries, Morris was suddenly thrust into the competition at first base, but he wasn't quite ready.
Milwaukee's Minor League Player of the Year in 2012, Morris had just three hits in 25 spring training at-bats for a .120 batting average.
The Brewers also returned catcher Adam Weisenburger and outfielder Kentrail Davis to minor league camp and optioned infielder Scooter Gennett, outfielder Josh Prince and right-hander Jesus Sanchez to Triple-A Nashville.
None of the latest round of cuts come as a surprise, but Sanchez did show well in five spring training games, posting a 2.08 ERA and striking out five in 4 1/3 innings.
The Brewers are now down to 42 players in big league camp.
