National Signing Day is off to a good start for USC and new coach Steve Sarkisian
Early Wednesday morning, five-start OL Damien Mama from St. John Bosco signed with the Trojans after weighing offers from Alabama and BYU.
Mama, will however, play only one year of college football before taking a two-year Mormon mission.
Mama (6-foot-4, 370 pounds) is rated as the No. 2 offensive guard in the nation, according to Scout.com, and helped lead St. John Bosco to a 16-0 record in 2013.
Mama joins other local players headed to USC: Bryce Dixon (TE, St. Bonaventure), Jalen Greene (QB, Serra), Jonathan Lockett (CB, Mater Dei), Viane Talamaivao (OL, Centennial), Ajene Harris (WR, Crenshaw), Olajuwon Tucker (LB, Serra) and Malik Dorton (DE, St. John Bosco).
