Matt Kemp's generosity has touched many in the baseball world.
Kemp, who recently gave a sick fan not only an autographed baseball but his game jersey, hat and cleats, was beyond moved when he came into contact with Joshua Jones, a 19-year-old from Tracy, Calif., suffering from inoperable tumors in his spine and has been given 90 days to live.
“I said hi to him, he just looked at me in kind of shock, and it almost got me,” Kemp told Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times. “It almost got me.”
“I was in shock,” Jones said in a phone interview Tuesday. “I was sitting there thinking, ‘I can't believe he's doing this.'”
