Kings' Jeff Carter could be out three more weeks

Carter, who had his right foot in a walking boot because of a fracture, was re-evaluated Thursday in Los Angeles and Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi received the updated medical report later in the day.
"Could be at lower end of three to six weeks," said Lombardi, who was with the Kings for their game against the Islanders on Thursday night here at Nassau Coliseum.
Carter has been on injured reserve for two weeks and his absence has loomed large. He has not played since Oct. 30 against San Jose. In 14 games this season, Carter has five goals and nine points.
His skill and versatility have been missed by the Kings even before they were hit with several more key injuries this past week.
The Kings currently are without Carter, left wing Kyle Clifford and defenseman Matt Greene on this trip and goalie Jonathan Quick returned home Wednesday because of a Grade 2 groin strain.
