The Kings dealt Matt Frattin and two draft picks to Columbus for three-time All-Star right wing Marian Gaborik just a few hours before the NHL trade deadline passed on Wednesday.

Limited to just 22 games so far this season because of a collarbone injury, Gaborik, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, has six goals and eight assists.

Also on Wednesday, the Kings acquired defenseman Brayden McNabb and a second-round choice in the 2014 and 2015 NHL Drafts from the Sabres in exchange for forward/defenseman Nicolas Deslauriers and right wing Hudson Fasching.

It's the second straight year that Gaborik has been traded prior to the deadline after being traded to Columbus from the Rangers in 2013.

Gaborik has 342 career goals and 688 points in parts of 13 seasons with the Blue Jackets, Rangers and Wild.

Frattin has two goals in 40 games this season for the Kings.

The Kings, winners of five straight, face the Jets on Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m. on FOX Sports West.
